There’s always something new to learn

Never let it be said that all that can be known about the climate has already been considered. There is always the opportunity for new discoveries and important new findings. The great benefit of having climate science, in particular, in investing in climate research, is that it continually increases our understanding of a very complex system – or set of connected systems, if that’s the way you’d rather see it.

This new finding in an of itself isn’t going to change what we already know a great deal, I imagine, but by adding to the sum of our collective understanding, it makes an important contribution to the bigger picture:
